As far I know, there is/were GeneBank project in Indonesia, coordinated under the Department of Agriculture, and the Indonesian Academy of Sciences. There is also a “clearing house mechanism” , which I haven’t heard of recently, because the scientists that I know were working there are now outside Indonesia :-(

As far I know, Ministry of Forestry Republic of Indonesia already established a Megabiodiversity of Shorea spp (trees species), key stone species of Tropical foestry in Indonesia. It is established in Cirata ( Banten province) colaboration with IITO project.

The institution who managing the nature conservation (flora and fauna - animals and plants) in the Ministry of Forestry Republicof Indonesia is Protection Forest and Nature Conservation (Perlindungan Hutan dan Konservasi Alam -Indonesian) located in Jakarta (Manggala Wanabhakti building).
